I’m Erna Drion
a documentary and editorial wedding photographer drawn to the in-between moments, the honest emotions, and all the little details that make your day uniquely yours. My approach is relaxed and observant: I stay close enough to catch what matters, and quiet enough to let it unfold naturally.
I’ll give you direction when it helps, especially when you’re not sure what to do in front of the camera. But I’ll never turn your wedding into a series of poses. Instead, I’ll create space for things to unfold naturally — beautifully observed, never over-directed.
And before the wedding day, we get to know each other. Every couple starts with an engagement session — a chance to get comfortable in front of my camera, find your rhythm together, and discover how I work. So when your wedding day arrives, being photographed already feels familiar. You can simply be present, and let me take care of the rest.

What makes your approach different?
I’m not there to create a perfect version of your wedding.
I’m there to see it.
The nervous excitement before the ceremony. The way your dad looks at you. Your friends crying during the speeches. The person dancing like nobody is watching. The quiet five minutes you steal together in the middle of the chaos.
My photography is about storytelling, emotion and connection — with an editorial eye for light, composition and all the beautiful details in between.
Your wedding doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s. It just needs to feel like yours.
Will we still get photos with the people we love?
Will we have time for just the two of us?
Absolutely. I actually love creating a little space in the day for just the two of you. It doesn’t have to feel like a formal photo session — think of it more as a moment to breathe, reconnect and take in what’s happening.
We might go for a short walk, find a quiet corner or simply step away from the celebrations for a few minutes. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but most of what I photograph happens naturally. The result is a mix of beautiful portraits and those in-between moments that feel completely like you.
What do we do in case of bad weather?
We don’t panic. Rain doesn’t mean your photos have to be less beautiful — sometimes it creates the most atmospheric images. I always keep an eye on the forecast and we’ll make a plan together. We can work with the weather, find beautiful covered locations, or simply embrace it. And if conditions really don’t allow us to be outside, there are always alternatives.
Do we need to prepare a shot list?
You don’t need to create a long shot list. I’ll ask you beforehand about the people, moments and details that are especially important to you, so I know what not to miss.
You’re also very welcome to share a Pinterest board with me. Not so we can recreate specific images, but so I can get a feel for what you love — the atmosphere, light, colours and overall feeling.
How much do you direct?
Very little — and only when it adds something.
My approach is documentary and editorial. I want to photograph your day as it actually unfolds rather than constantly interrupting it. When something needs a little direction, I’ll guide you gently and naturally. You’ll never be left wondering what to do.
What if we are awkward in front of the camera?
Almost everyone says this before their wedding. And honestly, you don’t need to know how to pose.
My job is to make you feel comfortable, not to turn you into models. I’ll give you simple prompts when needed and create space for you to simply be together. Most of the time, you’ll forget I’m even there.
And because every couple receives an engagement session, you’ll already know me and my way of working before your wedding day.
Do we have to do an engagement session?
Your engagement session is included with every wedding booking. It’s not just about getting some beautiful photos before the wedding — it’s about getting comfortable in front of my camera and getting to know each other.
By the time your wedding day arrives, having me around with a camera should feel familiar rather than strange.
How many photos will we receive and when?
I don’t believe in holding good photographs back just to meet a predetermined number.
You’ll receive all the good images that tell the story of your day — carefully edited and delivered in a beautiful online gallery.
You’ll receive a sneak peek within the first week after your wedding, so you won’t have to wait too long to relive the day.
Your complete gallery will be delivered within 8 weeks.
Do you travel?
Yes! I’m based in Switzerland and love photographing weddings both close to home and further away.
If your wedding takes me somewhere new, even better. Travel details and costs will always be discussed clearly beforehand, so there are no surprises.
Can we print our photos?
Absolutely. Your gallery allows you to download your images and print them for yourself.
I also offer beautiful fine-art wedding albums for couples who want to turn their favourite photographs into something tangible that can be held and passed down.
